Brandon invested in his first property while still in graduate school at Oklahoma Christian.
His professional background is in residential and commercial real estate development, utility relocation and public improvement projects. Â Prior to starting McKinnon, he worked as Vice President of Huitt Zollars at their Oklahoma City office. He managed complex development projects, entitlements, zoning and construction plan reviews. Brandon has been involved in developing notable projects around the metro, including Life Time Fitness, Oak Tree, Callaway House student housing in Norman, Mid-America Christian University, and the Lone Oak Subdivision among others.
His family has been in Oklahoma since statehood, and he was fortunate to be the third-generation to work at his family’s business until transitioning to real estate.  His grandfather, Ed Coon, served as city engineer to the Village, where his father still serves, while running the family’s civil engineering and land surveying firm.
In fact, Brandon wanted to honor his grandfather, who was a decorated WWII vet, wonderful family leader, businessman and a terrific golfer, when he started his real estate firm.  So, he chose the name McKinnon which is a family name from his grandfather’s side.
Brandon graduated from Anderson University with a bachelor’s in finance, and he received his MBA from Oklahoma Christian University.  He loves real estate because it allows him to spend more time with his wife and three great kids.
